How much does a plumber cost in Corpus Christi?

It depends on the job and the time of day. A basic service call for a clog or a faucet repair is generally in the low hundreds of dollars. Water heater replacement is generally in the low-to-mid thousands installed. Slab leak repairs range widely depending on whether the fix is a spot repair, a reroute or a repipe. The plumber quotes the price before the work starts, and the trip fee is usually credited toward the repair.

Do you charge more for emergencies?

Nights, weekends and holidays carry a higher rate. If the problem can safely wait until the next business day with the water shut off, we will tell you and give you the difference so you can decide.

What counts as a plumbing emergency?

A burst or actively leaking pipe you cannot stop, sewage backing up into the house, a water heater leaking heavily, a gas smell, or no water at all. For a gas smell, leave the house and call the gas utility first, then call us.

Where is my main water shut-off?

In most Corpus Christi homes it is at the meter box near the street, or on the supply line where it enters the house, often near an outside faucet. We wrote a full guide: How to find your main water shut-off.

Why are slab leaks so common here?

Most local homes are built on concrete slabs over clay soil. Clay expands when wet and shrinks when dry, and that movement stresses the water lines under the slab until they crack. Older copper and galvanized lines fail first. More on this: Common plumbing problems in Corpus Christi.

Is Corpus Christi water hard?

Yes, it is generally considered hard. Scale builds up in water heaters, valves and aerators faster than in soft-water cities, so flushing the water heater once a year and descaling tankless units matters more here.

Should I get a tankless water heater?

They save space and can lower energy use, but in hard water they need regular descaling and cost more up front. The plumber will compare a tank and a tankless unit for your household size so you choose with the numbers in front of you.

Do I need a permit for plumbing work?

Water heater replacement, sewer line work, gas lines and repiping require a permit from the City of Corpus Christi. Our plumber pulls it and schedules the inspection. If anyone tells you no permit is needed for a water heater or a gas line, be cautious.

Are your plumbers licensed?

Yes. Every plumber on our team is licensed by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners and insured. Ask for our Responsible Master Plumber licence number when we arrive and look it up on the Board's website. It is normal and expected.

What should I do before the plumber arrives?

Shut the water off if something is actively leaking, clear the area under the sink or around the water heater, keep pets out of the way, and have any notes or photos about when the problem started ready.
